In the beginning of 2019, I decided to make a drastic change in the way I dressed - I decided to start wearing a white t-shirt every day. Along with that decision came my search for the perfect plain white tee, and the first place I went to look is my go-to for basics - UNIQLO.
When it comes to plain white t-shirts, Uniqlo has several options. Today, we’re going to be looking at what I think are three of their best options for t-shirts - The Uniqlo Coton Supima T-Shirt, the Uniqlo DRY Packaged T-Shirt and the Uniqlo U Crew Neck T-Shirt.
Uniqlo Coton Supima T-Shirt
The first t-shirt we’re going to look at is the Uniqlo Cotton Supima T-Shirt, which is prices at $9.90 (PHP 590). this is probably Uniqlo’s most popular tee because of the famous Supima cotton blend that it uses.
This is the Uniqlo short that I would probably recommend to most people. It’s fit is what I would consider “standard”, which is why I think it would fit all sorts of style. The length drops down to around mid-crotch for me (I’m around 5’9”), and the sleeves go a little pat mid bicep.
The material is very soft and it’s thick enough that even with my white Supima tee, I wouldn’t consider it to see see through. You can’t go wrong with this option
Uniqlo DRY Packaged T-Shirt
The Uniqlo DRY Packaged T-Shirt is a slightly more affordable alternative to the Supima tee, coming it at $5.90 (PHP 290). Even with its cheaper price point, the Uniqlo DRY Packaged T-Shirt is a high quality t-shirt
Some of the differences in fit are that the Uniqlo DRY Packaged T-Shirt is slightly shorter than the Supima, both in body length and in sleeve length. The shade of white is also more white than the Supima tee.
The biggest drawback compared to the Supima tee is the feel of the material. If you compare the two side by side, the Supima t-shirt wins hands down. It’s thicker and softer than the Uniqlo DRY Packaged T-Shirt. The DRY Packaged tee is also more see though than the Supima.
I wanted to point these things so that you have an idea of the differences, but I still wouldn’t call the Uniqlo DRY Packaged T-Shirt a bad tee. If the difference in material and feel don’t bother you, the DRY Packaged T-Shirt is a great option.
Uniqlo U Crew Neck T-Shirt
The last t-shirt that we’re going to look at is something a little different from the first two. The Uniqlo U Crew Neck T-Shirt is part of the Uniqlo U line of clothes, which use more trendy styles and silhouettes. It is also the most expensive out of the three shirts, coming in that $14.90 (Strangely, it costs the same as the Supima Cotton Tee here in the Philippines at PHP590).
The Uniqlo U Crew Neck T-Shirt has a boxy fit and uses a thicker and rougher material. These things put together give the shirt a very retro feel, something that I really like. This is one of those shorts that It think can fit most people’s style.
If you’re not a fan of the retro look, I’d recommend sticking to one of the first two options. Otherwise, you might want to take a look at the Uniqlo U Crew Neck T-Shirt.
The Takeaway
There are no bad options when it comes to the t-shirts that Uniqlo offers, you choice will come down to your needs and personal style.
