Back with another How to Style Dr Martens post, this time focusing on Dr Martens SHOES. This is sort of a part 2 to my original post: How to Style Dr Martens Boots.
There are 3 Dr Martens shoe models that I consider to be their classic style. These are the styles that can be strong staples in your wardrobe, and the ones that I think you should consider first, before buying their seasonal/trendy styles.
Dr Martens 1461 - The Original
The first classic style is the Dr Martens 1461. This is basically the shoe version of their classic 1460 boots. A chunky silhouette with a roomy toe box, Dr Martens Airwair sole, yellow stitching; you can’t go wrong.
Dr Martens 3989 Brogues
If you’re looking for something with a little more decoration, the Dr Martens 3989 is going to be the pair for you. A full wingtip with just the right amount of broguing all throughout, this classic pair of Dr Martens adds a bit of sophistication to the Dr Martens look.
Dr Martens Adrian Tassel Loafers
If you’re a loafer kind of guy/girl, the Adrians are going to be your choice. A classic tassel loafer with a little bit of added bulk and presence, the Adrians are a versatile pair of shoes.
The Looks
In the video above, I go though 5 different looks using Dr Martens shoes. It’s best to watch the video to get a feel for each.
The looks that I showcase are:
The Everyday Look: Denim Jeans and a White T-Shirt
Laid Back: Casual Shorts
Something New: Cargo Shorts and Dress Socks
Business Casual: Dark Jeans and a Button Up
All Dressed Up: A Suit
I love my Dr Martens and could probably come up with a lot more looks, but these 5 will do for now. If you’d like to see more, please let me know!
